Incident at landing with a Fokker 27 Mk50, registered in Sweden, at Catanias Airport, Italy

During the final approach to Catania Airport the nose landing gear was in the “up” position and the crew decided to perform a missed approach in order to apply the emergency procedure. Even the emergency procedure failed, so the crew decided to land with the nose landing gear in the upright position. The incident didn't result in any injuries for the 21 persons on board. The incident is investigated by the Italian accident investigation authority. SHK has appointed Johan Nikolaou to be accredited representative in the investigation.
