Serious incident involving a Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Göteborg/Landvetter Airport on 5 April 2026

The aircraft, with registration 9H-QDZ, was conducting a ferry flight with only the crew on board. Shortly before landing, it encountered severe turbulence. The landing was discontinued and a go-around was initiated. Due to strong winds and turbulence, the aircraft became difficult to control and was flown outside the permitted limits for this aircraft type, which created a risk of serious damage to the aircraft. Although the pilot attempted to climb, the aircraft initially descended, but then climbed to the intended altitude, after which a normal landing was carried out at another airport.
