Accident involving an aircraft of the type PA-25 Pawnee at Karlstad Airport on 1 August 2026

During glider pilot training, the aircraft, registration SE-GBF, was towing a glider. When the tow had reached an altitude of approximately 100 metres, the glider ended up beside the tow plane. Shortly thereafter, the tow plane entered a stall/spin and crashed on the runway. The pilot was killed in the accident. The glider released the tow rope and carried out a normal landing at Karlstad Airport.
