Accident during launch involving a hot-air balloon with registration SE-ZIF in Nowe Marzy, Poland, on 16 August 2026

A hot-air balloon carrying 26 passengers, a pilot, and one crew member took off from a field in Nowe Marzy.

The takeoff went off without incident, and the flight progressed in accordance with the current weather forecast.
While searching for a suitable landing site, the pilot reduced altitude, after which the balloon landed on a stubble field in Jarantowiczki.

Following the landing, it was discovered that a passenger had sustained a fracture to the left forearm, which required hospitalization.
