Helicopter accident during liming of lakes and wetlands
On Friday, 25 September, a helicopter was carrying out liming operations on wetlands and lakes in the Gnosjö area. During the operation, the helicopter’s engine suddenly stopped.
The pilot immediately released a lime bucket suspended beneath the helicopter. The bucket landed in a wooded area near the site where the helicopter later made an emergency landing.
Following the engine failure, the pilot performed an autorotation—a landing without engine power. The pilot managed to land the helicopter on a nearby forest road. However, the landing was hard, causing substantial damage to the helicopter. The pilot was uninjured.
