Accident on board the roro-ship BALTICBORG

The 19 March 2019 a serious incident occurred on board the ro-ro ship BALTICBORG, registered in the Netherlands, on its way to Haraholmen, Piteå. Due to a fire or an explosion in electrical equipment toxic gas arose. Four crew members inhaled the toxic gas and were evacuated to hospital. One of them was very seriously injured. The Swedish Accident Investigation Authority (Statens haverikommission – SHK) has decided to investigate the accident and has agreed with the corresponding authority in the Netherlands, the Dutch Safety Board, that the Dutch authority will lead the investigation.
