Collision between the general cargo vessel NOREN and the fishing vessel CEYLON

The incident is being jointly investigated by the accident investigation authorities in Germany and Sweden.

The general cargo vessel NOREN collided with the fishing vessel CEYLON, which was engaged in trawling. The accident occurred in the Kattegat, off the coast of Læsø. No personal injuries were reported. CEYLON sustained damage to its superstructure and hull. As a result of the collision, the fishing vessel began taking on water and the machinery stopped. NOREN sustained minor damage to the bow. The incident is classified as a serious maritime accident.

The investigation is led by the German accident investigation authority BSU in cooperation with the SHK.
