NOSSAN – Grounding on Trollhätte Channel

En route on Trollhätte Channel to Gruvön the cargo ship Nossan's main engine went down to idle travelling. The ship lost its steering capacity, because the propeller water virtually ceased.

The ship ran aground at Stallbacka bridge and got a hole in the hull (4 x 1 meters), below the waterline. The ship took in water and after berthing at the bridge, it sank to the bottom.

SHK has classified the occurrence as a very serious marine incident.
