Serious incident during take-off with an Airbus A320NEO operated by SAS at Brussels airport February 5th 2026

After being cleared for take-off from runway 07R, the aircraft was aligned with a taxiway instead from which the start was initiated. Data indicate that the aircraft accelerated to over 100 knots before braking and coming to a stop, on the tarmac next to the taxiway edge. The occupants disembarked via airstairs, and no injuries were reported. No damages to the aircraft occured.
