Serious Incident with a Saab-340B aircraft at Canberra Aerodrome, Australia, on 29 January 2026

Shortly after takeoff, the left main landing gear wheel detached from the aircraft. The aircraft returned to Canberra and the crew was able to land safely. The initial technical investigation indicated a wheel bearing failure.
