Very serious marine accident with a lifeboat in Frihamnen harbour, Stockholm

At a safety training facility, six participants and an instructor were to practice exercises with a lifeboat. At the time of the accident, the lifeboat was at standstill in the water and two of the course participants were to change places with each other as helmsmen. The lifeboat got a very fast and powerful list and was flooded with water through one of the open side hatches in the superstructure. Two persons immediately fell into the water while the others were able to get out and up on the superstructure of the lifeboat. Two boats came to the rescue and were able to evacuate the participants and the instructor and then tow the lifeboat back to the training centre.
