Grounding of cargo ship STERNÖ in Göta Älv

The cargo ship STERNÖ was heading south in the river Göta Älv. During the night to the 24 February 2017 the ship ran aground near the lock in Lilla Edet. Although the ship took in water, it could be moved to berth. The ship listed and sunk. No people were injured in the accident.

SHK has decided to launch an investigation of the occurrence.
