International Rail
Investigations into rail accidents and incidents are primarily governed by the Accident Investigation Act (1990:712) and the Accident Investigation Ordinance (1990:717).
The Accident Investigation Act and Ordinance have both been amended to implement Directive 2016/798/EC on Safety on the Community’s Railways.
European co-operation
EU directive 2016/798/EC on Safety on the Community’s Railways requires SHK to cooperate with the investigation bodies of the other EU member states e.g. within the framework of the National Investigation Bodies Network (NIB), which meets regularly.
SHK also co-operates with the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA).
